While seeking financial backing for the company, it was insisted upon by the bank that Mr. Lavin becomes permanently involved with the company, taking an executive position in 1970. By 1975, OSI Group was seeing steady growth, becoming a major player in the meat industry and continued its development well into the eighties. During this time period, Mr. Lavin had acquired half of the controlling stake of OSI Group, eventually leading to his position today of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
