Her new movie is called “Book Club,” and Diane Keaton appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Wednesday night to promote it and let loose during the interview.
According to Yahoo, the actress began praising her co-star Andy Garcia for his part in the film, and Kimmel agreed that Garcia is quite a “dashing man.”
Keaton, 72, decided to reenact the final scene in “Book Club” that involves some steamy flirtation. She tried making out with Kimmel, 50, but he was nervous, blushing and asking the Hollywood legend what the name of his character should be.
Keaton deadpanned that Kimmel was nothing and “just the man.” Of course, Kimmel’s audience was howling. The big, black witch’s hat didn’t make the must-see moment any easier, but she cupped Kimmel’s bearded face in her hands and went for it. Check out the clumsy kiss on YouTube.
The late-night TV talk show host laughed and joked that a dream had come true for Jimmy Kimmel. He also wondered why he couldn’t have played Garcia’s role in the movie.
Diane Keaton says that Garcia was loose and that Kimmel was stiff. Kimmel laughed that he would have to watch the kiss again but in slow motion.
The movie “Book Club” also stars movie legends Candice Bergen, Jane Fonda and Mary Steenburgen. The film takes place in Los Angeles involving the lives of four longtime friends. They begin reading the erotic novel bestseller “50 Shades of Grey,” and their lives become unhinged.
