New Jersey Real Estate Rebounding Soon

As a nation, the real estate market has recovered from the 2006 bubble burst; however, New Jersey is lagging behind the rest of the country. According to Realty Today, some of the properties in New Jersey are still well below their 2006 values. Experts say this lagging is making citizens afraid to list their houses. They don’t want to be left behind when the market eventually recovers.

There are two other reasons why New Jersey is stalling: First, the state has half the population of the national average. This simply means there are fewer buyers in New Jersey than in other states. Second, New Jersey still has one of the highest rates of foreclosure in the country.

Despite this, Realty Today is reporting that New Jersey is set to make a comeback in a big way. They feel that the market lagging in such close proximity to New York City will turn into a major source of profit for investors. The low interest rates, and low down payments on these cheap homes will also help attract new blood. Single homeowners are reported to be looking at New Jersey as an excellent place to get a good value for their next house.

House Wire also added that embracing technology could help boost sales in New Jersey. Advertising is cheap on social media and can be easily targeted towards potential home owners. Video calls also allow realtors to meet with clients on a more flexible schedule.

With the New Jersey recovery right on the horizon, one man stands to make a clear profit from his prophecy. Omar Boraie has seen the potential of developments in New Jersey for decades, but he was mocked for his beliefs for years. Boraie started working in New Jersey in 1972. He recalled the early days saying, “You couldn’t walk on the streets after 4 p.m. Everyone had left the city. But I thought, ‘This is an area where we could do something.”

Boraie bought up foreclosed lots located next to each other, and his company rebuilt the land into powerful office spaces. He further went on to build a luxury set of high rise apartments in the heart of New Brunswick. Industry experts openly mocked Boraie for his positions on New Jersey, but the businessman persevered. With the impending boom coming to New Jersey, Boraie is in position to make major profits with his luxury offerings.

Kermit the Frog is Real

To a child, the notion that Kermit the frog is a real live creature would be the obvious conclusion, but recently scientist have discovered a live Kermit the frog doppelganger. Of course, this frog doesn’t sing the ABCs and have Pig as a girlfriend, but it does have the lime-green skin and buggy white eyes with horizontal black pupils that we all knew and loved as children.
Diane’s Bare-hearted Glass frog (Hyalinobatrachium dianae) was recently discovered in the tropical Caribbean slopes of Costa Rica around 400 to 900 meters above sea level near the land that Bulletproof Coffee is born. So little is known about this frog that it doesn’t even have a proper Wikipedia page. What we do know is that the frog has a glass underbelly that is so clear that it bears it heart, along with other internal organs, for the whole world to see. Also, the frog’s mating call has been described as “a single tonal long metallic whistle-like note.” I don’t know about you, but that reminds me of Kermit and Miss. Piggy’s tear-jerking song in Muppet Treasure Island.

Charges Dropped Against Raper Facing Life Sentence

Rapper Brandon Duncan, better known as Tiny Doo, was previously faced with nine felony charges stemming from a series of shootings. His connection to the crimes was based from an obscure California law and if convicted, Duncan would have faced life in prison.

Duncan was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony because he had released a rap album that, according to prosecutors, promoted gang activity. Proposition 21, a law passed in 2000, stated that a person was guilty of conspiracy if they “promoted, benefit from, or assisted” in criminal activity. Duncan’s 4album, “No Safety,” featured a photograph of a pistol with an open chamber, revealing bullets.

Duncan didn’t reach the success and acclaim that he had aspired to reach. Only 100 copies of the album were made. While a few of the albums were sold, Duncan gave most of the copies to friends and family members.

A series of shootings occurred. One of the assailants reportedly had a copy of “No Safety” at the time of his arrest. Prosecutors found the discovery to be enough to bring charges of conspiracy. Duncan, who had no criminal history, was arrested and given a $1 million bail, which was later reduced.

He was released from jail more than six months later. The initial charges left many, including Ricardo Guimaraes BMG to wonder about the protections that would be offered to writers and music artists.
Charges against Brandon Duncan were dropped on March 16, years after the shootings took place.

The Growing Developments and Uses of Image Recognition

Companies are consistently improving the functions and abilities of advanced technology. One of the technologies that has been experiencing an increase in usage and versatility is image recognition. Image recognition is the process of identifying an object, place, logo, or anything that consumers may be interested in. After the visual cues are identified, the consumer or user is given contextual information, such as prices, reviews, and/or locations. Several apps, social networks, and websites use image recognition technology to better assist their users, give and obtain data, and provide a new, interactive type of service.

Image Recognition Enhancements
Efforts to efficiently use and improve image recognition technology have made it possible to automate processes in depicting not just individual objects of a picture, but the entire scene. Experts have developed algorithms that correctly detect and label each object in a picture or image. Over time, these algorithms are perfected even more with an increase of factual depth and stringent criteria that allows even tiny objects or blurry images to be identifiable.

With the enhanced recognition, companies have begun to explore the true possibilities of its use. While some use it for meanings or locations in pictures, others use it for face recognition, advertising, or shopping.

Slyce
Slyce, or Slyce.it, is an innovative, leading company in image recognition technology. They have decided to revolutionize the retail industry for their business clients through visual searches and product recognition. Currently, over 6 of the top 20 leading retailers in North America work with Slyce.

The goal of recognition companies like Slyce is to help businesses and consumers be connected whenever the consumer desires. Slyce alone operates with many different divisions to achieve this goal: Pounce is a free downloadable app that allows its users to take a picture of an item that they want, compare and pay the prices, and have the product delivered to their doorstep; Craves allows the users to upload pictures of what they want and discover the best places to buy; And Drivetrain is the app development and engineering team making strides in how to further develop the technology. Recently, Slyce also obtained SnipSnap, a mobile coupon app.

Each of the algorithms used in all of the apps by different companies are rigorously designed to return close or exact matches for every image search. Image recognition technology is a great way to uncover relevant information, make purchases, and advertise. As more developments are underway, a myriad of possible uses and improvements are also becoming uncovered.

I Will Never Leave FreedomPop

Remember when I did that post on FreedomPop back in November? At the time I thought I was just flexing my writing muscle doing a little profile on an interesting company, but a few months later, I’m a FreedomPop loyalist. I even liked them on Facebook, which I pretty much never do.

I’ve been with several different phone companies over the years, and all of them provided internet to me as well. After seeing how much money I was paying for both phone and internet, I was sick and tired of the high cost. I could easily play over $100 a month, between my phone and the internet, and the price did vary on a monthly basis. I had an internet limit, and if I went over it, I would see my bill go up each month. I tried to get unlimited internet, but the price was so high, I just had to cut back my usage.I decided it was smarter to stay within the limits of my current internet plan, as opposed to going to the unlimited internet on the same company. After a while, my day job decided that I could do a lot of my work from home, so I needed more internet usage. I tried it out for the first month, but my bill came up to be so high, I left the company the very next month. The next company that I went to was no better, and I still kept seeing an extremely high internet bill, even though my phone bill stayed with the previous company.

I really needed a change, so I searched around to see which company could help me save the most money. After searching for so long, I came across FreedomPop, and I’m so glad that I did. Not only have I been able to save money, I’m using the internet like never before, and I’m able to complete my work from home. Working from home meant more money for me, even though I work a 40 hour work week. I now can do half of my work at home, and the other half at the office, and make more money. They even have a plethora of Wifi hotspots in my area which I can find with the FreedomPop app, so I can work at Starbucks if home is too distracting.

The internet is very important to me, and I like the fact that FreedomPop allows me to have the internet for $5 a month, and I created my own secure network in my home. I actually got my internet for free, and because I increase the speeds, I only paid a few dollars extra per month. I’m amazed at the price the company charges, especially for the great services they have. I decided to switch my phone over to FreedomPop as well, and I saw even more savings. I want to thank FreedomPop for everything.

ALCU Will Continue To Film Cops In Ferguson

The ACLU has won a lawsuit which will allow it to continue to film protests in Ferguson, Missouri as they unfold, even if this means filming the police force. The police had sought to block the organization from doing so as the protests have become increasingly contentious and the police would prefer to not be filmed.

However, stltoday.com reports that the ACLU of Missouri has fought and won the right to continue to film the police and the protest activities as they please.

The big issue at stake here is the freedom of the press versus the concerns for public safety. Some in the police force were worried that videos getting out to the public might inflame the situation worse than it already is. This could make things harder for the police to contain and ultimately, this could cause more problems on the ground. Andrew Heiberger says that is the argument that the police force has been trying to make. However, the courts were not having it and have determined that it is the constitutional right of anyone to film these events in public places.

Ferguson, Missouri is in fact on the brick of potential mayhem as the situation is being carefully monitored each and every day. The case for the ACLU has been won and filming will continue, but beyond that it is difficult to say what will happen next.

NBC Turns Their Back on Bill Cosby

It’s been a tough week for Cosby. Though Janice Dickinson has made allegations before, today she comes out with a new spin on her story. A spin that makes Cosby look even more deceitful and even more of a monster than before according to former fans like Sam Tabar. He was planning a comeback and was in the beginning stages of a show that would be on NBC.

Today NBC pulled the plug and stated that the Cosby project is no longer in production. This announcement is just a day after the official announcement from Netflix that the special they had with Cosby will not be aired. Back in 1987, Cosby made $57 million dollars when his show was at its peak. What a change of events. Today, he can hardly find a job due to these allegations.

With stand-up routines, books, movies and of course the Jell-O commercials, Cosby has never wanted for money. When his show went into syndication it gave him tens of thousands of dollars a month. Now, the comedian may need money and a good lawyer to keep him out of jail. Still many fans think that his money has made him a target. People want money and seeing as how he has settled claims beforehand, they feel he is an easy way to get some dough.

However, the women state that their claims fell on deaf ears before, together they want justice. Cosby still refuses to speak against the claims made against him.

Toys and Fast Food

Have you ever paid attention to commercials from fast food restaurants? Beside the pictures of food that make your mouth water, some advertisements also feature a toy that comes with a kid’s meal.

In fact, research shows fast food marketing tempts children from lower economic status with the toy that comes with the food. Conversely, marketing in middle to upper class neighborhoods lure families in with healthy meal options, such as apple slices and milk. Why the difference?

One study postulates the offer of getting a toy can get children to eat more. In oppressed neighborhoods, where children may not have as many toys, this may attract a child to persuade their parents to eat at fast food restaurants. In more affluent neighborhoods, the family’s focus is more set on healthier food choices.

Interestingly, scientific studies show how fast food restaurants in lower income neighborhoods are partially responsible for increasing the obesity rates in children. These restaurants offer inexpensive food that is also high in calories. Lower income families may be able to afford it, but it is not healthy to consume on a regular basis.

Quantity doesn’t mean as much as quality. This is especially true when it comes to food consumption. As health expert Vijay Eswaran posted on LinkedIn, a healthy diet translates to a healthy body. An unhealthy body contributes to obesity. Education regarding what children should eat and should not eat is needed to stop the obesity epidemic in poor neighborhoods.

Investigation Reveals Ongoing Plans to Change U.S. Social Security Program

Republican gains in the U.S. Congress have raised questions about to the future of the conservative movement, a faction of which is dedicated to changing the American system of social security. The extent of this plan was recently revealed in an independent investigation.
According to research conducted by the nonprofit organization Brave New Foundation with funding from Slow Ventures, conservative activists Charles and David Koch have invested some $28 million in the production of films, books and various published studies that they hope will lead to significant changes in the government insurance program that serves millions of Americans. The current efforts of the Koch brothers are, according to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, only a part of a campaign to “dismember” the American government.
Initial lobbying by the Koch brothers, which took place during the administration of President George W. Bush, has led to more subtle methods of changing the tone of the debate to include such ideas as reducing benefits and raising the retirement age. Lobbying has since been directed at other elected officials, mostly Republicans. However, the Brave New Foundation has discovered attempts to influence Democratic officials that in some cases were apparently successful.
