Batik Cheongsam

Batik Cheongsam / Qipao dress by Ruddy Walakandou at Alun Alun, Jakarta

This is what I wore from my last post. It’s my sister’s batik cheongsam I borrowed for this shoot we did at June’s home. I love this dress as it showcases the two cultures I was brought up in – Chinese / Indonesian. What I love about it is that it uses two different floral patterns which totally in style with current “pattern clash” trend. The high mandarin collar which you can fold down to make it into a cute little collar. An invisible zipper on the side and the cheongsam is edged with thin green trimmings. What’s not to love? I think the only ‘painful’ thing about this look is my shoes! This Lanvin flats are the most uncomfortable flats I ever own due to the tight elastic on the back! But hey, it was on sale and it’s so pretty, how could I resist?
